Mental Health Awareness Week | It’s More Than Just a Check In

On site, we’re used to getting the job done. Early starts, long days, pressure to deliver. That’s the standard. But what doesn’t get spoken about enough is what’s going on behind that.
Mental Health Awareness Week isn’t about ticking a box or putting up a poster.
It’s about recognising that the same people building structures, solving problems and pushing jobs forward are also dealing with their own pressures outside of work.
Sometimes all it takes is a quick conversation.
A “you alright?” that actually means something. Five minutes off the tools. No big gestures, just listening to eachother.
At Stephenson Group, we’re continuing to push for a culture where speaking up isn’t seen as weakness and checking in on your mate is just part of the job.
We’ve got Mental Health First Aiders being trained across our teams, making sure there are people on site and in the office who know what to look for and how to step in when it matters.
Because in construction, we rely on each other every day. That shouldn’t stop when it comes to mental health.
If you’re struggling, or even if you’re not sure if you are, there’s support out there:

Let’s keep listening.
