Twas' the night before the summit

’Twas the night before the summit, and all through the base,

Not a hiker was stirring, not even a trace.

Our boots were all polished, our packs packed with care,

In hopes that tomorrow we’d conquer the air.

A “short” hike today let us rest and check kit,

And practice our grins for the summit selfie bit.

Excitement (and nerves) jingled like bells in our heads,

As visions of peaks danced while we tucked into beds.

Our trekkers have been working hard to get to the final base camp before they summit tomorrow!
